Our Story
In 1841, the need for a faithful Baptist church in the Roanoke Valley was great. In the Lord’s kind providence, the He saw fit to establish Mount Pleasant Baptist Church as a gospel witness in the community. For nearly 200 years, by God’s grace, Mount Pleasant Baptist Church has remained committed to the faithful proclamation of God’s Word, the sufficiency of Christ, and the hope of the gospel.
Throughout its history, MPBC has been marked by a deep love for both the church and the surrounding community. Like many churches across generations, the ministry of MPBC has experienced seasons of growth, challenge, fruitfulness, and refinement. Yet through every season, the Lord has remained faithful to sustain His church.
Today, we look ahead with gratitude for God’s faithfulness in the past and confidence in His promises for the future. Our prayer is that the Lord would continue to use Mount Pleasant Baptist Church to make disciples, strengthen families, serve our community, and proclaim the gospel both locally and around the world for generations to come.
