Larry Goins

Lead Pastor

  • Larry was called to serve as Lead Pastor at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 2025 after previously serving as an elder at his church in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

    His greatest earthly joy is his family. Larry has been married to his wife, Emily, since 2015, and they are grateful parents to four children: Ellis, Knox, Eleanor, and Judah.

    Larry studied at Fruitland Baptist Bible College (AA), the College at Southeastern (BA), and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv).

    At the center of Larry’s life and ministry is a deep conviction that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes everything.

Levi Halye

Associate Pastor

  • Levi was called to serve as Associate Pastor at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in 2023. Jesus broke through to Levi at 12, where he surrendered his life to Christ. Through his involvement in youth ministry as a teen God was stirring up a heart bent toward the next generation. 

    While in his undergraduate program at Liberty University he met his wife Julia. They have been married since 2024. 

    Levi studied at Liberty University (BA), and is currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity through Liberty's Online Seminary.

    Levi has a genuine love for the next generation, investing and equipping them to be strong Christ followers committed to living to advance God's Kingdom.

  • Brenda joined the MPBC staff in 2026. She has lived in Roanoke for thirteen years and has been married to her husband, Jon, for forty-one years. Together, they have five children and two grandchildren. Though she’s on staff at MPBC, she’s a member at Cave Spring Baptist Church.
